Área: FISIOLOGIA HUMANA/ANIMAL E DO EXERCÍCIO APLICADA OU NÃO AO ESPORTE

Nesta área de concentração, busca-se investigar a modulação dos sistemas cardiorrespiratório, metabólico e muscular durante o exercício físico buscando compreender os mecanismos fisiológicos e fisiopatológicos envolvidos. A investigação ainda abrangeria compreender o papel benéfico do exercício nas doenças cardiorrespiratórias e metabólicas entre outras.

Linha de Pesquisa: FISIOLOGIA HUMANA E/OU ANIMAL INTEGRATIVA

Investigar a regulação integrativa dos sistemas cardiorrespiratório e muscular durante o exercício físico, em humanos saudáveis ou com doenças cardiorrespiratórias e/ou metabólicas, com o intuito de compreender mecanismos fisiológicos e fisiopatológicos e de promover aumento da capacidade para realizar exercícios físicos. A partir de projetos iniciados em 2014, nos próximos anos pretende-se investigar:

1) Mecanismos e aplicações de uma manobra conhecida como pré-condicionamento isquêmico (PCI), no âmbito da fisiologia do exercício aplicada ao esporte (Projeto de pesquisa vinculado: Efeito do Pré-Condicionamento Isquêmico de Músculos Estriados Esqueléticos sobre Respostas Metabólicas ao Exercício Físico em Humanos);  2) Contribuição do quimiorreflexo periférico para o controle de respostas neurocardiovasculares ao exercício físico e no período da recuperação pós-exercício em humanos saudáveis e em pacientes com insuficiência cardíaca (Projeto de pesquisa vinculado: Contribuição Tônica do Quimiorreflexo Periférico no Controle Vagal do Coração em Repouso e na Recuperação do Exercício em Pacientes com Insuficiência Cardíaca Crônica).
